Water Team Template

Updated

Pair Water-Pal Attack, Defense and weak-point damage with pressure and bulk.

This editable Water starting party for Palworld 1.0 uses Pocketpair's v1.0 element-build structure directly. Kelpsea raises Water-Pal Attack, Gloopie Primo raises Water-Pal Defense, and Penking Lux adds damage only against enemies weak to Water. Neptilius supplies the high-Attack field slot and Water travel, while Panthalus gives the party a durable rotation option. The final two slots are jobs, not a universal ranking: replace pressure or bulk when a fight needs trainer conversion, aerial travel or a different elemental mix.

The lineup

5 core members

Every slot has a job. The cards below show the exact synergy, its rank range, who it affects, and a mapped route to recruiting that pal.

Party attack support01
Kelpsea 1 effect

Keep Kelpsea in any party slot. Aqua Spout raises the Attack of every Water Pal by 15-30%; duplicate copies do not stack. Its Aquatic Pal Fluid drop belongs to Ranch work.

  • Water Pal Attack15% 30%Water PalsUnique effect · does not stack
Recruitment route

Catch it in the wild. Spawns at levels 9 to 17 across 159 points on the main island.

Party defense support02
Gloopie Primo 1 effect

Cephalo-Princess raises the Defense of every Water Pal by 15-30% while Gloopie Primo is in the party. Another Gloopie Primo does not add a second copy.

Recruitment route

Catch it in the wild. Spawns at levels 65 to 66 across 14 points on the main island.

Weak-point support03
Penking Lux 1 effect

Unyielding Storm Commander raises the player's and Pals' Water damage by 25-40% only when the target is weak to Water. It is not a universal Water multiplier.

  • Water Weak-Point Damage25% 40%You + Water PalsUnique effect · does not stack
Recruitment route

Breed from mapped starters in 1 step. Breed Penking + Rayhound for Penking Lux.

Pressure / water traversal04
Neptilius Core attacker

Neptilius has 145 base Attack and follows the player's attacks with Water spear strikes while in the party. It can also be ridden across water and leap above the surface; its extracted swim-speed bonus begins at rank 2, not rank 1.

Pressure slot: 145 base Attack, Water follow-ups and mounted traversal.
Recruitment route

Start with the mapped field-boss encounter. The lowest mapped encounter is level 60.

Bulk rotation05
Panthalus Core attacker

Panthalus brings 180 base HP and 200 base Defense for a durable Water rotation slot. Resonant Guardian patrols and bombards only while Panthalus is assigned at a base, so the page does not count that Partner Skill as a party buff.

Bulk slot: 180 base HP and 200 base Defense; Partner Skill is base-only.
Recruitment route

Complete the Deserted Islet quest. Collect four Echobones, craft the Echoing Flute, and defeat Panthalus within 10 minutes. The capture at the end is guaranteed.

Condensation scaling

Rank 1 → Rank 5

Compare every surfaced partner effect at base rank and full condensation. Effects marked Unique can still scale by rank, but duplicate carriers do not stack.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I use this Water team template?

Keep Kelpsea, Gloopie Primo and Penking Lux in the party, field Neptilius for pressure, and rotate to Panthalus when durability matters. Penking Lux contributes its combat bonus only when the enemy is weak to Water.

Why are Neptilius and Panthalus the flexible slots?

They solve different field jobs: Neptilius supplies 145 base Attack, Water spear follow-ups and water traversal; Panthalus supplies 180 HP and 200 Defense. Neither choice proves a universal top-five ranking, so change pressure or bulk first when the encounter asks for something else.

Does Azurobe replace Kelpsea as Water support?

No. Azurobe changes the mounted trainer's attacks to Water, while Kelpsea raises the Attack of Water Pals throughout the party. Choose Azurobe for a rider-focused trainer build, not as a substitute with the same recipient.
