Agreement and scope
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply to PalMods and any related website, API, download, community feature, or application that links to them (together, the “Service”). In these Terms, “PalMods,” “we,” “us,” and “our” mean the operator of PalMods.
The Service is a community platform for discovering, publishing, discussing, and managing modifications and tools for Palworld. These Terms apply whether you browse without an account, create a profile, download files, use an API, or publish content.
Additional rules may appear in a feature, upload flow, author-selected permission, or community channel. Those rules also apply to that feature. If they conflict with these Terms, these Terms control unless the additional rule clearly says otherwise.
Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 years old—or the minimum age required to consent to online services where you live—to use PalMods. If you are under the age of legal majority, your parent or guardian must approve your use and these Terms. Mature or adult-labeled content is only for users who are at least 18.
Give us accurate account information, keep your sign-in method secure, and tell the moderation team if you believe someone has accessed your account. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless it resulted from a security failure on our side.
Do not sell, transfer, or share an account to evade enforcement. We may require you to verify control of an account before assisting with account-specific requests.
Your community content
“Community Content” means anything you submit to the Service, including mods, archives, images, descriptions, comments, reviews, collections, bug reports, profile information, and links. You retain ownership of your Community Content.
To operate the Service, you grant PalMods a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, cache, scan, format, reproduce, display, distribute, and make your Community Content available through the Service. This license includes using titles, summaries, icons, and screenshots to index, search, preview, or announce your content on PalMods channels. It also lets our infrastructure providers perform these tasks for us.
This license is limited to operating, securing, improving, and promoting the Service. It does not transfer ownership to us. It ends when your content is deleted, except for copies reasonably retained in backups, safety or legal records, cached pages, or content another user lawfully reused before deletion.
A mod page may state whether others can modify, redistribute, or include that mod in a public collection. Those settings describe the author's permission to other users; PalMods does not grant rights the author did not give.
Downloads and mod safety
Mods are created by independent community members, not by PalMods. They may alter game files, save data, networking behavior, or system settings. Before installing anything, review the author, file details, scan results, permissions, and installation instructions. Back up important files and use a test environment when appropriate.
PalMods scans eligible uploads and may publish checksums or static-analysis results. A clean result is not a guarantee. Automated tools can miss new, obfuscated, or environment-specific threats. You are responsible for deciding whether a download is suitable for your device, game version, server, and risk tolerance.
Installing mods can cause crashes, data loss, multiplayer restrictions, anti-cheat consequences, or conflicts with a game or platform agreement. PalMods is not responsible for those outcomes. Never disable security controls solely because an upload tells you to.
Acceptable use
You may not use the Service to:
- break the law, violate another person's rights, or facilitate wrongdoing;
- upload malware, phishing material, credential stealers, or destructive scripts;
- harass, threaten, dox, exploit, or impersonate another person;
- publish sexual content involving minors or any exploitative or illegal sexual content;
- spam, manipulate ratings or download counts, coordinate fake engagement, or evade rate limits;
- probe, bypass, or interfere with authentication, scanning, moderation, access controls, or service infrastructure;
- scrape or automate requests in a way that degrades the Service or ignores published API limits;
- use alternate accounts to avoid a suspension, block, content restriction, or moderation decision; or
- misrepresent an affiliation with PalMods, Pocketpair, Nintendo, another author, or any third party.
Responsible security research is welcome when it avoids privacy violations, data loss, service disruption, and public disclosure before we have a reasonable chance to respond.
Moderation and enforcement
We may review, scan, limit, label, hide, quarantine, remove, or preserve content when we reasonably believe it violates these Terms, creates a safety risk, infringes rights, misleads users, or threatens the integrity of the Service. We may also restrict features, suspend accounts, reverse manipulated metrics, and preserve evidence of abuse.
Moderation is contextual and may involve automated systems as well as human review. We are not required to host any particular content, and the existence of a scan or moderation process does not make us responsible for reviewing every file or communication.
If you believe an action was mistaken, contact the moderation team through the official PalMods Discord linked in the footer. Do not create another account to work around the action.
Intellectual property and takedowns
PalMods respects intellectual property rights. Rights holders or their authorized agents can submit a copyright or other IP claim through our DMCA / IP takedown page. Notices must be accurate, identify the protected work and targeted material, and include the statements required by law.
We may remove or quarantine material while a claim is reviewed and may terminate repeat infringers where appropriate. False or abusive notices can harm users and may carry legal consequences. If your content is removed, follow the instructions in the notice you receive to ask about review or a counter-notice.
The PalMods name, site design, software, and original materials are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you a right to copy our branding or represent that you are endorsed by us.
Third-party services and game rights
The Service can link to author sites, source repositories, donation pages, OAuth providers, Discord, storage providers, and other third-party services. Their terms and privacy practices apply to your use of those services. We do not control or endorse third-party content merely because it is linked from PalMods.
PalMods is an independent fan project. Palworld is a trademark of Pocketpair. PalMods is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Pocketpair or Nintendo. You are responsible for following the rules that apply to your copy of the game, platform account, and server.
Changes to PalMods or these Terms
We may add, change, suspend, or retire features as the community and technology evolve. We do not promise that every feature, file, or account will remain available forever. When practical, we will provide notice before a material change that negatively affects users.
We may update these Terms. The date at the top shows the latest revision. Material changes will take effect after reasonable notice when required by law; other changes take effect when posted. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms.
Disclaimers
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the Service and all community files are provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, and any warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or free of harmful content; that scan results will detect every risk; that compatibility information is accurate; or that installing a mod will produce a particular result. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability and indemnity
To the fullest extent allowed by law, PalMods and its contributors, moderators, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits, business interruption, device damage, account penalties, or the acts of another user, arising from the Service or a community file.
Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of US $100 or the amount you paid directly to PalMods for the Service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not apply where liability cannot legally be limited.
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and indemnify PalMods and its contributors against third-party claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your Community Content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of another person's rights. This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim was caused by PalMods.
Suspension, termination, and account deletion
You may stop using the Service at any time. Signed-in users can export account data or permanently delete an account from Settings. Account deletion removes the account and associated content as described in the Privacy Policy, subject to limited safety, backup, and legal retention.
We may suspend or terminate access immediately when reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with law, investigate abuse, or enforce these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, licenses for retained copies, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, and dispute terms—will survive.
General terms, disputes, and contact
If a dispute arises, please contact the moderation team first so we can try to resolve it informally. Nothing here prevents either side from seeking relief from a court or authority with lawful jurisdiction. Applicable law governs these Terms without overriding consumer protections that cannot be waived where you live.
If any provision is unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the rest will remain effective. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a reorganization or transfer of the Service, subject to applicable law.
For general Terms questions, use the private contact form. Use the DMCA / IP form for rights claims and the controls described in the Privacy Policy for personal-data requests. Do not include passwords, authentication codes, or identity documents in an initial message.
