Frequently asked questions
How is capture chance calculated in Palworld?
The model combines the pal species capture rate with sphere power, Capture Power rank, equipped sphere-module Capture Strength, target level, remaining HP, and world settings. It shows a modeled per-throw estimate plus a ten-throw projection under unchanged conditions. The current native formula is not fully recovered, so confirm important throws with the in-game aim display.
Does lowering a pal HP increase the capture rate?
Yes. Both community testing and the fitted model show a substantial improvement as remaining HP falls. The calculator uses an older datamine-calibrated HP curve because the current native curve is not available, so treat the percentage as an estimate rather than an exact game value.
How much does the sphere type matter?
A lot. In current 1.0 data, capture power rises from 7 for a Pal Sphere to 64 for an Ancient Sphere. Ultra, Legendary, and Ultimate are now 33, 38, and 44. An equipped sphere module can add another 1, 2, or 3 Capture Strength.
What do Lifmunk Effigies do for capture rate?
Each Lifmunk Effigy rank you unlock at the Statue of Power adds 0.5 capture power on top of your sphere. Raising your effigy rank steadily improves your odds against every pal, and the bonus stacks with the sphere you throw.
Are Alpha and field-boss pals harder to catch?
They are harder in the older datamine behavior used to calibrate this model. The Alpha toggle applies the observed 0.7 factor, but that factor has not been recovered from the current 1.0 native formula, so the result remains a modeled estimate.
