The PalMods desktop app is now in beta, free for Windows 10 and 11. It turns installing a Palworld mod into a single click: hit Install on any mod page, and the app downloads the file, checks it against your game version, and places it in the correct folder for your install.
It is a full mod manager, not just a downloader. The app watches your whole library for updates, manages the frameworks your mods depend on, backs up your loadout before Palworld patches can break it, and ships a save editor in beta.
What one-click install actually looks like#
Every mod page on the site now offers two paths that fetch the exact same file: a manual download that works everywhere, and the app path that handles everything for you.

Choose the app path and the manager comes forward with a confirmation sheet. It shows the mod name, version, file size, and the exact game folder it will write to. Nothing is ever installed silently.

Approve it and the app verifies the download against its checksum, resolves the right loader folder for your install, and confirms when the mod is ready.

Everything in the beta#
One-click installs are the headline, but the beta ships as a complete manager:
- Conflict detection. Before anything is written, the app cross-checks hooks, Lua tables, and asset paths against the mods you already run, and flags mods the latest Palworld patch likely broke.
- Updates that find themselves. Installed mods are re-checked against the catalog every 30 minutes, frameworks are checked against their upstream releases, and the app updates itself over a signed channel.
- Framework management. UE4SS, the Logic Mods Framework, and PalSchema are handled as one dependency stack: install the whole runtime at once, repair a single piece, or remove it cleanly.
- Save editor, in beta. Open a Level.sav and edit players, Pals, guilds, and inventory. Every change is validated and undoable, and the original save is backed up before it is touched.
- Backups and restore. One click zips your entire loadout, mods and frameworks included, so a bad patch is a restore away.
- Per-install profiles. Steam, Game Pass, and dedicated Windows or Linux server installs are detected automatically, each with its own tracked mods.
- Library sync. Sign in and your installed library follows your account, with alerts the moment a mod you run ships an update. Signed out, everything local still works.
The same rules as the site#
Downloads through the app are never gated: no wait timers, no throttling, no paywalls. Only files that passed a virus scan are ever downloadable, and compatibility comes from the same engine the website uses, so the app and the site always agree about what works with Palworld 1.0.
Signing in is optional. If you do, your session is stored in the Windows credential vault and is only ever attached to PalMods itself, never to a mod download from anywhere else.
Get the beta#
The app is free, about 15 MB, and runs on 64-bit Windows 10 and 11. The installer is not code-signed yet, so SmartScreen may warn you on first run: click More info, then Run anyway. Every release is virus-scanned before it ships, and code signing is on the near-term roadmap.
- Download the app from the app page and run the installer
- Launch it and confirm your Palworld install, Steam and Game Pass are detected automatically
- Open any mod in the catalog and hit Install with the PalMods app
It is a beta, so expect a rough edge here and there, and expect it fixed quickly, since the app updates itself. If something breaks, the Discord link in the sidebar goes straight to us.
